Take the N1 North out of Johannesburg/Pretoria and drive toward Polokwane (Pietersberg) on the N1.

Travel until you reach the N4 Rustenburg highway, take the N4 and travel West towards Rustenberg. Pass through two toll gates, then take the R 511 Brits off ramp, turn right towards Brits and continue over the N4 and through Brits.

Once you have passed the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Spur and fruit and veg (on your left hand side) continue on the R 511 towards Thabazimbi for +/- 75km.

Turn left on the R 510 towards Northam/Dwaalboom/Rustenburg. Continue 30km to Northam, and pass through the town, once you pass the Kentucky Fried Chicken (on your left hand side) continue for +/- 15km towards Swartklip/Dwaalboom, take the Maroelasfontein road (at the Maroelasfontein junction is a black and white Oppikoppi sign of a dog urinating), turn right onto the dirt road towards maroelasfontein), continue for 10.5km and Phakela’s entrance will be on your right hand side.
